Former WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day, consisting of Big E, Xavier Woods, and Kofi Kingston, are one of the top factions in the promotion. Before forming the group, each member—Big E, Woods, and Kingston—struggled with their careers in WWE. In 2014, Xavier Woods took the initiative to approach both Big E and Kofi Kingston with the idea of forming a faction called The New Day.
Initially, the faction faced significant challenges. Despite being portrayed as babyfaces, they struggled with a lack of fan support and were heavily booed. In 2015, they turned heel, marking the beginning of their greatest run as tag team champions.
The New Day, who won the titles in 2015, achieved historic success by holding the WWE Tag Team Championships for a record-breaking 483 days. This impressive record was surpassed in 2022 by The Usos, who held these titles for 622 days.
Their catchphrases, “The Power of Positivity” and “The New Day Rocks,” began to resonate with fans, leading to a transformation into beloved babyfaces. Now, The New Day still remains one of the most cherished and top factions in WWE.
Recently, The New Day celebrated a decade since their formation in WWE. To mark the occasion, former WWE Champion Big E shared a special tribute to the faction members. He posted a nostalgic photo of all three—the moment when Xavier Woods approached them for the first time.

The New Day recently marked its tenth anniversary, and former WWE Champion Big E honored the occasion with a special tribute to the faction. In response, 2021 King of the Ring winner Xavier Woods reflected on the milestone. He noted that they are just a few months away from the tenth anniversary of their debut match on November 28, 2014, which coincided with Black Friday.
The faction is currently facing challenges, as the faction now consists only of Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston. Big E, who suffered a neck injury in 2022, has not yet been cleared for in-ring action.
Although he continues to appear on WWE shows, he remains sidelined due to medical reasons. Meanwhile, Woods and Kingston are engaged in a rivalry with The Final Testament, led by Karrion Kross. Kross has his eyes set on Kofi Kingston. This has led many to believe that WWE may be hinting at a potential breakup of the faction.
