The rivalry between WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley on Raw isn’t just about the title. This rivalry began last year when Liv Morgan was the Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Raquel Rodriguez.
Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez won the Women’s Tag Team titles at WWE Money in the Bank 2023 by defeating Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. This marked Morgan and Rodriguez’s second reign as champions. However, their title reign took a dramatic turn when Rhea Ripley, the then Women’s World Champion, got involved.
Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships to Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green on the July 17 episode of Raw due to a backstage attack by Rhea Ripley. Enraged by this, Morgan challenged Ripley to a match the following week. However, before the match could begin, Ripley ambushed Morgan with a vicious steel chair attack on her shoulder, forcing her out of action for six months.
A year has passed since Rhea Ripley’s brutal attack on Liv Morgan, an incident that sidelined the latter for six months. The roles have now reversed, with Liv Morgan being the WWE Women’s World Champion while Rhea Ripley is without a title. Ripley recently revealed her feelings about whether she regrets attacking Morgan and causing her shoulder injury.
Rhea Ripley blames Liv Morgan for ignoring her warnings
At WWE SummerSlam, Liv Morgan will defend her Women’s World Championship against Rhea Ripley. Recently, as their rivalry marked its one-year anniversary, USA Network highlighted Ripley’s intense attacks on Morgan, showcasing how personal their feud has become on X (formerly Twitter).
In response to the tweet, Ripley stated that she had warned Morgan multiple times to stay out of her business. She blames the women’s world champion for the ongoing conflict between them.
The rivalry between Morgan and Ripley has been a cycle of revenge. After Rhea Ripley’s brutal attack on Liv Morgan’s shoulder, forcing her out of action, Morgan returned the favor by costing Ripley the Women’s World Championship after WrestleMania 40. However, the feud took an even more personal turn when Liv Morgan began targeting Ripley’s on-screen boyfriend, Dominik Mysterio.
