A WWE Hall of Famer wishes to see former tag team champion Jey Uso achieve a world title in his singles career. Jey Uso began his singles journey last year at WWE SummerSlam, challenging Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Title.
Although Jey Uso fell short against the Tribal Chief, his brother Jimmy Uso’s betrayal and the ensuing drama within the Bloodline led Jey to move to Raw. After transitioning to the red brand, Jey surprised fans with an impressive singles career.
Jey Uso has consistently delivered outstanding performances in his singles matches, facing opponents such as Gunther, Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, Bronson Reed, Ilja Dragunov, and many others. His rise to the top has established him as a prominent figure in the main event scene.
At WrestleMania 40, he defeated his brother, Jimmy Uso, in a personal feud. Following WrestleMania 40, Jey earned a shot at the World Champion Damian Priest by winning a number-one contender’s match.
At WWE Backlash in France, Jey received one of the most enthusiastic ovations in recent WWE memory. Since then, fan support for him has skyrocketed, with the ovations growing stronger week after week. Now, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T is eager to see Jey Uso capture a singles world title sooner rather than later.
Booker T says WWE should accelerate Jey Uso for world title win
Booker T, a five-time world champion, is advocating for Jey Uso to pursue singles titles. Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker mentioned the momentum Jey Uso has gained with his popularity. He suggested that it was time for WWE to consider putting the world title on him.
He stated, “Of course, it’s gotta happen. They’re like one of the most decorated tag team champions of all time. I told those guys that was going to happen. Jey right now is super duper hot, so you gotta put the rocket on him sooner or later. Jey is a guy that definitely could be the world champion one day, the way the people are looking at him right now, so I think to capitalize off of that, you have to put the title on him sooner or later because he’s uber hot right now.”
Recently, Rikishi, the father of Jey Uso, expressed his disappointment with the promotion for not pushing the former WWE tag team champion to win the Money in the Bank briefcase.
