Drew McIntyre, amidst his rivalry with Damian Priest and CM Punk, has issued a warning before WWE Clash at the Castle 2024. With a challenge against Priest for the WWE World Title at the event, McIntyre has redirected his focus towards Punk.
CM Punk has been a thorn in McIntyre’s side ever since costing him the WWE World Title at WrestleMania 40. Not only did Punk cost him the championship, but he also prevented McIntyre from securing a rematch. Punk even got drafted ahead of him. However, with Punk sidelined due to injury, McIntyre finally received his shot at the title against Damian Priest at the WWE Clash at the Castle. Despite this upcoming championship match, McIntyre hasn’t forgotten Punk and has sent him a warning ahead of the event.
In an interview with Cultaholic, Drew McIntyre issued a warning to CM Punk ahead of the Clash at the Castle. He stated, “I think it would be a mistake for a number of reasons after what happened last time at Clash, I really do not want something like that to happen again to the UK.”
He continued by saying, “This is Glasgow… this is Scotland, this is different. I would strongly suggest not getting involved or doing anything to rock the boat during this show as there’s a genuine chance you’ll get jumped. I’m not even joking. And there’s a genuine chance the security guards won’t stop them because they’re Scottish as well. I’m telling you, there’s a good chance you’ll get jumped and security will help jump you if you get involved in my match.”
Drew McIntyre discusses WWE star CM Punk’s impact on his career
Currently, Drew McIntyre is promoting his upcoming match at Clash at the Castle in his home country of Scotland. Meanwhile, he has shifted his focus more towards CM Punk than his opponent, Damian Priest.
In an interview with Indian Express, McIntyre shared how Punk had hurt him professionally and personally early in his career. He stated, “First of all, I can’t stand the Money in the Bank briefcase. I understand the point is to cash it in to win the title, but I’ve lost my last two world titles because of that stupid briefcase. But yeah, WrestleMania wasn’t ideal. I said I was going to win the title, I was going to celebrate it with my friends, my family, and my wife, and then I was going to rub the title in CM Punk’s face. I can’t stand him. We have a history that people just do not know about yet. He hurt me personally and professionally when I was younger.”
It will be interesting to see if CM Punk once again costs Drew McIntyre his match against Damian Priest at Clash at the Castle 2024.
