However, his reign was short-lived. CM Punk, who was on commentary at the time, attacked him, which led to Damian Priest cashing in his Money in the Bank contract and winning the title. This turn of events intensified the already heated rivalry between McIntyre and Punk. Although CM Punk was sidelined due to injury during this period, both stars continued their feud.

Drew McIntyre opens up about his rivalry with Seth Rollins
Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Drew McIntyre recently appeared on The Masked Man Show. McIntyre described how his rivalry with Seth Rollins can sometimes become intense on a personal level, however, he emphasized that it remains professional.
He stated, “I mean, personally it can get a little bit tense at times, as I said on TV to his face — and I mean it — that our rivalry is based, you know, in a professional sense. We get together, we push each other to have the best match possible, the best interview possible, whatever the situation is. That’s when I get the best results out of people because I know I operate the best when I’m angry.”
While Drew McIntyre has an intense relationship with Seth Rollins, he is currently engaged in a feud with CM Punk. The two are set to face each other again in a Strap Match at WWE Bash in Berlin. The show is scheduled to take place in Berlin, Germany on 31st August.
