WWE Star Doubts Ability to Pass Drug Test to Compete at WrestleMania 40

WWE star Pat McAfee recently discussed his connection with WWE during an appearance on the All The Smoke podcast with hosts Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson. When asked about his potential participation in WrestleMania 40, McAfee expressed doubt, citing concerns about his ability to pass a drug test due to his current training.

Explaining his pursuit of “rich guy stuff” post-retirement to maintain his physique, McAfee acknowledged experimenting with various substances. Despite lacking awareness of the long-term effects, McAfee pondered potential health risks.

However, McAfee conceded that he currently has too much in his bloodstream to pass a WWE physical, indicating that he won’t be competing at WrestleMania 40. He stated, “All that being said, I don’t think I could pass any drug tests for a WrestleMania, because they drug test people so that’s real deal… and I’m on everything I think they’re testing for.”

Given WWE’s drug testing policies and McAfee’s current substance intake, it seems unlikely that he will participate in WrestleMania 40. Nonetheless, fans can expect to hear him on commentary during the event.

A look back: Pat McAfee’s past WWE WrestleMania performance

Pat McAfee’s foray into the world of professional wrestling took him to the grandest stage, WrestleMania 38. The former NFL player and sports commentator carved a unique path in WWE, showcasing his personality and proving his in-ring capabilities.

McAfee’s journey began within the developmental brand NXT, where he formed alliances and engaged in captivating storylines against Adam Cole. At WrestleMania 38, he stepped into the ring against Austin Theory, emerging victorious in a thrilling match.

However, McAfee’s night wasn’t over. Surprisingly, he challenged WWE’s then-Chairman Vince McMahon to an impromptu match. While McMahon emerged victorious, the action didn’t stop there.

Theory and McMahon continued their assault on McAfee until Stone Cold Steve Austin delivered a resounding Stone Cold Stunner to all three individuals. As such, it left a lasting impression on the WrestleMania 38 fans.
