The trailer for Rey Mysterio vs. La Oscuridad previews the new Cartoon Network show that will put the spotlight on professional wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio.
“Rey Mysterio vs. La Oscuridad tells the story of Oscar, a wrestling fan, who will team up with his idol, Rey Mysterio, to face supernatural beings and fight against the forces of evil; villains from the world of wrestling and characters from Mexican traditions and the world of fantasy,” according to the official description. “Behind these extraordinary opponents is Uroboros, an evil fighter who uses dark forces that he does not fully understand. Rey Mysterio and Oscar must work together and do their best to defend the city and themselves from his evil plans.”

When & where will Rey Mysterio vs. La Oscuridad be available?
The series will be debuting on Cartoon Network Latin America and Max Latin America. It is not known whether it will be available in other territories.
“We are very excited to share this incredible production made in Mexico,” shared Jaime Jiménez Rión, Vice President of Content and Original Production, WarnerMedia Kids & Family Latin America, when the project was first announced in late 2021. “We are confident that Cartoon Network and Rey Mysterio fans will enjoy the surprises we have in store for them, and the show will meet their expectations.”
It was also mentioned at the time that Rey Mysterio vs. La Oscuridad “blends Mexican graphic components with American wrestling, anime, and cartoon aesthetics.” In terms of the story, “the action takes place in a world that includes elements of Mexico in an exciting and vibrant city, which will connect with the audience. This is a story of big dreams, of action in and out of the ring, in a show with a Mexican flavor and all the fun and style of Cartoon Network Latin America.”
