Stranger Things star Eduardo Franco, who played Argyle in Season 4, has said that he won’t be returning for the final season of the acclaimed Netflix drama series.
In an interview with the Steve Varley Show, Franco was asked about his absence in the recently released cast photo for Season 5. The actor revealed that he simply wasn’t called back for the final season and doesn’t appear in the upcoming episodes.
“It’s nice to hear that there’s some sort of concern or something, you know what I mean,” Franco answered. “But I never got a phone call, so I think … yeah, I think that’s it.”

The series currently stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Charlie Heaton, Sadie Sink, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, and Brett Gelman.
Who joined the Stranger Things cast in Season 4?
Season 4 introduced a number of new fan-favorite character characters, including Joseph Quinn’s Eddie Munson, Jamie Campbell Bower’s Vecna, Eduardo Franco’s Argyle, Tom Wlaschiha’s Enzo, Grace Van Dien’s Chrissy, and Amybeth McNulty’s Vickie. Besides Bower, it’s currently unclear which other Season 4 characters will make appearances in the final season.
Stranger Things is created and executive produced by Matt and Ross Duffer, who also serve as showrunners. Executive producers are Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, and Iain Patterson. All four seasons are now available for streaming exclusively on Netflix.
