Darren Kent Passes Away, Game of Thrones Actor was 36

Darren Kent, who played the role of Zalla’s father/Goatherd in Game of Thrones, has died at the age of 36.

The agency Carey Dodd Associates (via Deadline) reported that Kent passed away peacefully on Friday, August 11, surrounded by his parents and his best friend.

“It is with deep sadness we have to tell you that our dear friend and client Darren Kent passed away peacefully on Friday,” the agency stated on Twitter. “His parents and best friend by his side. Our thoughts and love are with his family in this difficult time. RIP my friend.”

Alongside his role in Game of Thrones, Kent appeared in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, the BBC soap opera EastEnders, and the BBC adaptation of Les Miserables as Chenildieu.

Kent’s role in Sunny Boy earned him the Best Actor Award at the 2012 Van d`Or Independent Film Awards. Outside of acting, Kent also wrote and directed. He had directed the award-winning 2021 short You Know Me.
