Yellowstone to Make Broadcast Debut on CBS in Fall

CBS has just unveiled its upcoming schedule for the fall 2023 TV season. In a surprise move, the hit series Yellowstone will make its way to cable. The Ty Sheridan drama air on CBS amidst the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

Due to the ongoing strikes that have shut down most work across Hollywood, CBS is looking to bolster its fall TV lineup. With that in mind, the hit series from Paramount will join the U.K. series Ghosts (which CBS also has a series based on), SEAL Team, and “curated” episodes of the police procedural drama Blue Bloods as part of the fall lineup of content.

Sunday (with NFL single-header)

  • 7 p.m.: 60 Minutes
  • 8 p.m.: Yellowstone (beginning with Season 1)
  • 9 p.m.: Yellowstone
  • 10 p.m.: Big Brother (Season 25 premieres Wednesday, Aug. 2)

    Sunday (with NFL double-header)
  • 7 p.m.: NFL overrun + 60 Minutes
  • 9 p.m.: Yellowstone

What is Yellowstone about?

Yellowstone is created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson. It stars Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Jefferson White, Forrie Smith, Denim Richards, Ian Bohen, Finn Little, Ryan Bingham, Gil Birmingham, Jen Landon, and Kathryn Kelly.

“The series chronicles the Dutton family, led by John Dutton, who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States,” reads the synopsis. “Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park.”

The show is executive produced by John Linson, Art Linson, Taylor Sheridan, Kevin Costner, David C. Glasser, Bob Yari, and Stephen Kay. The Paramount Network original drama is co-produced and co-financed by 101 Studios.
