Chief Detective 1958 episode 1 will premiere in April 2024 on MBC and Disney Plus. Starring Lee Je-Hoon in the lead role, the cop-crime K-drama revolves around a team of detectives fighting corruption.
Je-Hoon will essay the role of Detective Park Young-Han alongside Lee Dong-Hwi as Kim Sang-Soon, Yoon Hyun-Soo as Seo Ho-Jung, and Choi Woo-Sung as Jo Kyung-Hwan. The series is a prequel to a classic K-drama, Chief Inspector, which aired from 1971 to 1989. Veteran actor Choi Bool-Am played Young-Han’s role in the show.
MBC recently shared a preview trailer of episode 1, featuring Je-Hoon as Detective Park. In it, he disguises himself as a beggar to investigate a case.

Chief Detective 1958 episode 1 will premiere on Friday, April 19, 2024, and episode 2 on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 9.50 p.m. KST on MBC. The K-drama will also be available to stream on Disney Plus.
In the recently released episode 1 trailer, Park Young-Han (Lee Je-Hoon) appears as a beggar at a gambling place. The detective is undercover to catch the culprit in the act. He annoys the people around him through his wits, eventually revealing his real identity.
According to MyDramaList, the K-drama’s synopsis reads, “The drama will follow the story of Park Young Han, a passionate detective who boasts the highest arrest rate when it comes to petty thieves, as he teams up with three charismatic colleagues to break the norms of corruption.”
In addition to the lead actors, some supporting cast members include Seo Eun-Soo, Choi Deok-Moon, Song Wook-Kyung, Ryu Yeon-Seok, and Jo Han-Joon. The OG drama’s actor Choi Bool-Am will also appear in the premiere.
Chief Detective 1958, which consists of 10 episodes, will air new episodes on Fridays and Saturdays on MBC and Disney Plus.
