Apple TV+ has dropped another Foundation Season 2 trailer for the upcoming return of its action sci-fi epic, based on Isaac Asimov’s classic novel of the same name. The first episode of Season 2,”In Seldon’s Shadow,” will stream next week on July 14. This will be followed by new episodes weekly every Friday through September 15.
The video continues to tease the start of an inevitable war between Hari Seldon’s Foundation and Day’s Empire. It also highlights Gaal Dornick’s significant role as a leader in the incoming second crisis. The first episode of Season 2 will feature Hari trapped in a mysterious prison, while Day becomes distress following an assassination attempt.

What to Expect in Foundation Season 2?
“More than a century after the season one finale, tension mounts throughout the galaxy in Foundation season two,” reads the synopsis. “As the Cleons unravel, a vengeful queen plots to destroy Empire from within. Hari, Gaal, and Salvor discover a colony of Mentalics with psionic abilities that threaten to alter psychohistory itself. The Foundation has entered its religious phase, promulgating the Church of Seldon throughout the Outer Reach and inciting the Second Crisis: war with Empire.”
Apple TV+’s Foundation hails from creator and executive producer David S. Goyer, who is also serving as showrunner. It chronicles the stories of four crucial individuals transcending space and time as they overcome deadly crises, shifting loyalties, and complicated relationships that will ultimately determine the fate of humanity.
The series stars Jared Harris as Hari Seldon and Lee Pace as Brother Day along with Lou Llobell as Gaal Dornick, Leah Harvey as Salvor Hardin, Laura Birn as Demerzel, Terrence Mann as Brother Dusk, Cassian Bilton as Brother Dawn, and Alfred Enoch as Raych. Joining them in Season 2 are Holt McCallany, Ben Daniels, Rachel House, Isabella Laughland, Mikael Persbrandt, Kulvinder Ghir, Sandra Yi Sencindiver, Ella-Rae Smith, Dimitri Leonidas, and Nimrat Kaur.
Foundation is executive produced by Robyn Asimov, Josh Friedman, Cameron Welsh, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Bill Bost. It is a co-production between Apple Studios and Skydance Television.
