Following a bidding war against major competitors, Deadline brings word that Apple TV+ has successfully won the rights to Seth Rogen’s upcoming untitled Hollywood comedy series, which he is set to lead and executive produce. Apple has officially given the project a straight-to-series order, with Rogen also serving as a co-writer and director.

The untitled series centers around a “legacy Hollywood movie studio trying to survive in a world where it is increasingly difficult for art and commerce to live together.” It is being written by Rogen Evan Goldberg, Peter Huyck, and Alex Gregory.
The project will be co-directed by Rogen and Goldberg, who are executive producing through their Point Grey Pictures banner along with James Weaver. Huyck and Gregory will both serve as showrunners and executive producers. It hails from Lionsgate, with Alex McAtee and Josh Fagen executive producing. Frida Perez has also signed on to produce.

The untitled Hollywood comedy series will be added to Rogen’s growing list of upcoming projects, including films like The Fabelmans, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Mufasa: The Lion King, and Dumb Money, as well as another comedy series for Apple TV+, Platonic.
