Season four of the critically acclaimed Amazon series The Boys has officially begun production, with the cast beginning to gather in Toronto for the filming of the series.

Things began with a post on Twitter from series developer and showrunner Eric Kripke, who shared a photograph of himself en route to Toronto, where the series has mostly been filmed.
Following that, stars Karl Urban and Jack Quaid shared photos of themselves together on Instagram, with actor Jensen Ackles — who plays Soldier Boy in the series — even teasing his own return by telling the pair to save a drink for him.

The Boys is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and as revered as gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the supergroup known as “The Seven.” The show retains most of the comics’ boundary-pushing violence and sexuality while exploring the dark side of superhero celebrity and fame.
The Amazon Studios series stars Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, and Karl Urban, along with Erin Moriarty, Antony Starr, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, Nathan Mitchell, Claudia Doumit, and Colby Minifie.
Season three featured the addition of Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles as the infamous Soldier Boy, Katia Winter as Little Nina, Miles Gaston Villaneuva (Law & Order True Crime) as Supersonic, Sean Patrick Flanery (The Boondock Saints) as Gunpowder, Nick Wechsler (Revenge) as Blue Hawk, and Laurie Holden (The Walking Dead) as Crimson Countess.

The series, based on the comic book series created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, is created by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, who are also responsible for AMC’s Preacher, and Supernatural creator Eric Kripke.
Seasons one to three are available for streaming on Prime Video.
