The Boys Season 5: Erin Moriarity Shares Her Hopes for Starlight Killing Members of The Seven

The Boys star Erin Moriarty has hope that Starlight will get to kill at least one member of The Seven during the upcoming final season of the Prime Video superhero series. The actress recently shared she hopes her character will face off against two villains in particular.

What did Erin Moriarty say about The Boys Season 5?

In a recent interview, Moriarty was candid about the fact that she wanted to see Starlight kill either Homelander or at least the more ineffectual The Deep. She said: “Listen, I personally, I think that as of this past season, all bets are off. I think that we had certain predictions. I think she should kill Homeander. I don’t think that want or desire will or can be met. Who knows? But she’s got to at least get The Deep, let me kill the fish guy at least, bare minimum for God’s sake.”

Still, even though the bad blood between Starlight and The Deep is well-documented on the show, with The Deep sexually assaulting Starlight in season 1, Moriarity acknowledged that Starlight wouldn’t want to kill someone unless provoked. She continued: “It needs to be under circumstances where she’s provoked at first because that’s her. She can’t just go and kill someone. They need to attack her and it’s self defense because she’s Annie, but she’s got to get someone and I feel like people weren’t rooting for that as much until this past season. But that concept of a cathartic karma. I think we really need it. So all of the above, all of them.”

The Boys Season 5 does not currently have a release date, although it is expected to return in 2026. In the most recent season of the popular adaptation, which reached new highs in terms of streaming viewership, Starlight was faced with confronting some of her loathsome behavior as a young contestant on the beauty pageant circuit. The season ends with Starlight seemingly headed for safety while her boyfriend Hughie (Jack Quaid) is abducted.

Quaid and Moriarty, Chace Crawford as The Deep, and Antony Starr as Homelander are all expected back for The Boys Season 5. Showrunner and executive producer Eric Kripke has suggested that characters aren’t safe in the final season, meaning deaths will likely happen.

Moriarty’s interview comes as she’s promoting her new film, the thriller Catching Dust. Directed by Stuart Gatt in his feature debut, Catching Dust follows what happens when a couple from New York arrives in Texas and need a place to stay. Jai Courtney, Dina Shihabi, and Ryan Corr also star in the thriller, which will be out in theaters and on VOD as of August 23.
