A new poster for The Boys Season 3 has been released by the Prime Video series’ official Twitter account, promising that “soon, it’ll be time to level the playing field.” Featuring Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher with a set of glowing eyes, you can check out the poster below and let the Compound V theories begin. (Fans of the comics, though, will readily speculate that this season could be introducing a certain plot regarding The Boys and the Supe serum).

The Boys is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and as revered as gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the supergroup known as “The Seven.” The show retains most of the comics (available for purchase here) boundary-pushing violence and sexuality while exploring the dark side of superhero celebrity and fame.
The Amazon Studios series stars Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, and Karl Urban along with Erin Moriarty, Antony Starr, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, and Nathan Mitchell. Claudia Doumit and Colby Minifie have both been upped to series regulars for Season 3 and are being joined by Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles as the infamous Soldier Boy and Katia Winter as Little Nina.
Also joining Season 3 are Miles Gaston Villaneuva (Law & Order True Crime) as Supersonic, Sean Patrick Flanery (The Boondock Saints) as Gunpowder, Nick Wechsler (Revenge) as Blue Hawk, and Laurie Holden (The Walking Dead) as Crimson Countess.

The series, based on the comic book series created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, was created by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen who are responsible for another subversive comic book-inspired series, AMC’s Preacher, and Supernatural creator Eric Kripke.
Season 1 and Season 2 are available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
