Paramount Network has officially renewed Oscar-nominee Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone for a fifth season. The renewal comes after a month since the popular family drama had concluded its 10-episode fourth season. Production is expected to begin this May.
According to the network, Yellowstone remains as TV’s no. 1 show as it continues to break records with its Season 4 premiere garnering over 14 million total viewers and its latest finale delivering over 15 million total viewers.
“Yellowstone’s record-breaking performance proves we’ve tapped a cultural nerve and unleashed a passionate audience from the center of the country to each of the coasts,” President and CEO of ViacomCBS Media Networks, Chris McCarthy said in a statement. “Kevin Costner leads our incredible cast who make the Duttons America’s favorite family and, this new season is sure to be another one fans won’t want to miss.”

Yellowstone is created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson. It stars Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Jefferson White, Forrie Smith, Denim Richards, Ian Bohen, Finn Little, Ryan Bingham, Gil Birmingham, Jen Landon, and Kathryn Kelly.
The series chronicles the Dutton family, led by John Dutton, who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park.
