Crimson Countess is a parody of Marvel’s Scarlet Witch and in the comic book series, has heat vision and heat/fire manipulation powers. The character also has a connection with Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy (hinted at in the above caption) as they are both part of the superhero group known as Payback in the comics.

Showrunner Eric Kripke shared the photo of Crimson Countess as well, commenting on Holden’s “fearless” performance. Holden also teased that a preview will be shared by the Vought International Twitter account on Sunday.

The Boys is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and as revered as gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the supergroup known as “The Seven.” The show retains most of the comics (available for purchase here) boundary-pushing violence and sexuality while exploring the dark side of superhero celebrity and fame.

The Amazon Studios series stars Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, and Karl Urban along with Erin Moriarty, Antony Starr, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, and Nathan Mitchell. Claudia Doumit and Colby Minifie have both been upped to series regulars for Season 3 and are being joined by Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles as the infamous Soldier Boy and Katia Winter as Little Nina.

Also joining Season 3 are Miles Gaston Villaneuva (Law & Order True Crime) as Supersonic, Sean Patrick Flanery (The Boondock Saints) as Gunpowder, Nick Wechsler (Revenge) as Blue Hawk, and Laurie Holden (The Walking Dead) as Crimson Countess.

The series, based on the comic book series created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, was created by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen who are responsible for another subversive comic book-inspired series, AMC’s Preacher, and Supernatural creator Eric Kripke.

Season 1 and Season 2 are available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
