The sequel series, History of the World, Part II, will act as a sequel to the 1981 film. Variety reports that Brooks is once again attached to the project, both as a writer and executive producer. Brooks will be joined by Nick Kroll, Wanda Skyes, Ike Barinholtz, David Stassen, and Kevin Salter, who will all have writing credits on the series.
The original comedy film was a parody of the anthology film genre, and included various comedic takes on different events throughout history. Moments like the Stone Age, happenings in Ancient Rome, and the French Revolution were all covered in the original film, which also featured a variety of musical numbers as well.

It’s unclear what world events the sequel series will tackle, but there will no doubt be plenty of material to cover. Variety reports that Hulu has ordered eight episodes of the show, with the writers room set to gather in October and production slated to begin sometime in spring 2022.
“I can’t wait to once more tell the real truth about all the phony baloney stories the world has been conned into believing are History!” Brooks said in a brief statement.
