After 11 acclaimed seasons across both Crackle and Netflix, it appears that the Jerry Seinfeld-hosted/directed/created talk show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee may actually be coming to an end, according to Deadline.

While speaking on a virtual press conference for his upcoming Netflix special 23 Hours to Kill, the 66-year-old Emmy-winning comedian revealed that he “may have done that exploration at this point” as well as potentially filming his final stand-up special.
“We haven’t planned anything with that show,” Seinfeld said. “I feel like I did that tour… I know they look very casual and easy but they’re actually a lot of work to make, the editing is very intense and I don’t know, I feel like I may have done that exploration at this point.”
The eleventh season of the series, which featured guests Martin Short, Ricky Gervais, Matthew Broderick and Eddie Murphy, came as part of a lucrative deal made between Seinfeld and Netflix in 2017 that included two live specials. Despite opening up about the possibility of bringing the series to an end and not filming any more stand-up specials, Seinfeld noted he doesn’t plan to stop performing after the global health crisis.

“It’s really about obsessing mostly on the art and the moment of creating something that is great but doesn’t necessarily tied to a deal or production, a network and all of those other things that you think about with show business,” Seinfeld said. “Now I feel like I just want to be out on a stage, I don’t really care where, I don’t care what size of venue, it’s just about enjoying that moment and it doesn’t have to be big or a conventional show business venture.”
23 Hours to Kill is set to premiere on Netflix on May 5.
