FX has announced the premiere date for their upcoming limited series Fosse/Verdon, starring Oscar winner Sam Rockwell as legendary choreographer Bob Fosse and Academy Award-nominated actress Michelle Williams as Gwen Verdon. The miniseries is set to premiere on April 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, exclusively on FX.

The eight-part series is based on Fosse, the biography written by Sam Wasson, which tells the story of the love and collaboration between the two. Fosse was a filmmaker and legendary Broadway director/choreographer, while Verdon was a wonderful Broadway dancer. The series will feature Fosse’s choreography and focus on the hidden corners of the entertainment business
Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, Dear Evan Hansen‘s Steven Levenson, and Thomas Kail will all executive produce alongside stars Rockwell and Williams, as well as George Stelzner. Levenson will serve as showrunner, and has written the pilot episode, which Kail will direct. Actress/dancer Nicole Fosse, who’s the daughter of Fosse and Verdon, will as co-executive producer. Co-producer Andy Blankenbuehler will serve as the choreographer.
The series will be produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FXP.
