FX has released the first trailer for its upcoming limited series Fosse/Verdon. The show will explore the life of legendary choreographer Bob Fosse, played on screen by Oscar-winner Sam Rockwell. Michelle Williams will play Gwen Verdon, the woman who helped shape Fosse’s unique style that catapulted him into the spotlight. You can check out the trailer in the post below!
The eight-part series is based on Fosse, the biography written by Sam Wasson, which tells the story of the love and collaboration between the two. Fosse was a filmmaker and legendary Broadway director/choreographer, while Verdon was a wonderful Broadway dancer. The series will feature Fosse’s choreography and focus on the hidden corners of the entertainment business.
Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, Dear Evan Hansen‘s Steven Levenson, and Thomas Kail will all executive produce alongside stars Rockwell and Williams, as well as George Stelzner. Levenson will serve as showrunner, and has written the pilot episode, which Kail will direct.
Actress/dancer Nicole Fosse, who’s the daughter of Fosse and Verdon, will as co-executive producer. Co-producer Andy Blankenbuehler will serve as the choreographer.
The series will be produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FXP and will premiere in April.
