According to The Daily Mail, Alaska State Troopers have discovered Blaze Thibaudeau safe and sound near the Canada border. His own mother, Spring Thibaudeau, allegedly kidnapped him because she believed that her 16-year-old son was chosen by God. Spring had an obsession with doomsday and the second coming of Christ.
Along with Blaze, officials also discovered his sister Abigail Snarr, 23, and his uncle, Brook Hale, at the Alcan Port of Entry. Although the investigation is still in progress, the police believe that the teen was taken from his home in Gilbert via Idaho.
Blaze’s family failed to contact him and eventually informed cops about his disappearance. Soon, arrest warrants were issued for Spring and her brother, Hale.
Who is Blaze Thibaudeau’s alleged kidnapper?
Spring Thibaudeau, Blaze’s own mother is his alleged kidnapper. She and her brother Hale were charged and arrested for custodial interference and conspiracy to commit custodial interference in Arizona. However, Abigail was not charged.
The teenager’s father, Ben Thibaudeau, informed the police of his son’s disappearance on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. His relationship with his wife, Spring, was estranged. He furthermore informed officials that Spring had purchased a lot of survival equipment and even went off the grid. She believed that Blaze was chosen by the almighty.
Ben Thibaudeau spoke to East Idaho News where he said,
“They feel they needed to take him to an undisclosed location where he would receive his calling and understand his role in the Second Coming. I fear for his safety, especially if my son is contentious, rebellious, or belligerent. I fear that my brother-in-law would restrain him or do something that would incapacitate him.”
Ben Thibaudeau was the temporary sole custodian of his son. On Monday, he received a call from his estranged wife where she explained that she needed to go to the hospital. However, later that day, Ben found Spring packing and talking about the second coming.
