Kanye West Announces Donda 2 Album Release Date Ahead of Jeen-Yuhs Documentary

Kanye West’s three-part Netflix documentary Jeen-Yuhs received high praise after being premiered at Sundance and is set to begin dropping next month, but that isn’t the only thing Ye fans have to look forward to in February.

West announced on his Instagram that a follow-up to his 2021 album Donda, appropriately called Donda 2, will release on February 22, 2022. That is one week after Jeen-Yuhs part one releases on February 16, and one day prior to part two releasing on February 23. The move also comes after West was unhappy with the documentary and demanded to have the final cut on it.

Details are currently scarce on the project, but Ye says Donda 2 will be executive produced by Future. The duo previously worked together on the song “I Won” and Future brought out West during Rolling Loud in December. Since then, they’ve been seen frequently together and recording.

Given West’s ambitious nature, his past several projects have not dropped on the date originally set. So don’t be surprised if Donda 2 doesn’t release on February 22, or if it gets scrapped entirely such as his Yeezus follow-up, Yandhi, which was set to release on September 29, 2018.
