The end of the year, along with bringing along some pretty terrific films, gives us plenty of extended interviews with the people behind those films. The Hollywood Reporter is responsible for many of these interviews, giving us roundtables of some of the top filmmakers and performers of that particular year. This year’s roundtables start with the focus on one particular film, Interstellar, which is just under a week away from release. Director Christopher Nolan and actors Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, and Anne Hathaway come together for a half-hour conversation about the science fiction epic.
The THR roundtables are sometimes a bit too formal for my taste, but I appreciate their attempt to have people just converse about their work for an extended period of time. After I see it in 70mm IMAX Tuesday night, I will be certain to check this out. Until then, I want to remain as much in the dark about the movie as I possibly can. For those not as concerned about knowing things about the movie, you can watch the roundtable below. I highly doubt it will be a waste of your time. Even if I sometimes get bothered by THR’s formality, these awards season chats are typically interesting. I look forward to them every year.
