Transformers One has received an official rating from the Motion Picture Association (MPA).
Transformers One will be released in United States theaters this coming September. The voice cast of the animated movie includes Chris Hemsworth as Orion Pax/Optimus Prime, Brian Tyree Henry as D-16/Megatron, and more.
What is the official MPA rating for Transformers One?
Per FilmRatings, Transformers One will be rated PG for “sci-fi violence and animated action throughout, and language.”
While 1986’s The Transformers: The Movie was rated PG, all of the live-action Transformers movies have been rated PG-13. This includes 2007’s Transformers, 2009’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, 2011’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon, 2014’s Transformers: Age of Extinction, 2017’s Transformers: The Last Knight, 2018’s Bumblebee, and 2023’s Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
“The film is the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever,” the official synopsis for the film reads.
Along with Hemsworth and Henry, the voice cast for Transformers One includes Scarlett Johansson as Elita, Keegan-Michael Key as B-127/Bumblebee, Steve Buscemi as Starscream, Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion, and Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime.
The film is directed by Josh Cooley (Toy Story 4), while Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy, Tom DeSanto, Michael Bay, Mark Vahradian, and Aaron Dem serve as producers.
“It’s an origin story, so we not only talk about these characters that people know, but of the origin of the species itself,” Cooley recently said of the movie, via Variety. We go back to the beginning. This is what happened. This is how we got to this place. You can go in knowing absolutely nothing and enjoy this film.”
Transformers One will be released in United States theaters on September 20, 2024, from Paramount Pictures.
