With James Gunn taking over the DC Universe, Pom Klementieff and several other people involved in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise are hopping over to the DCU as well. The Suicide Squad saw plenty of Gunn’s past colleagues joining DC. Similarly, Klementieff is confirmed to be in talks for a particular DC role as well.
Guardians of the Galaxy star in talks to play a ‘specific’ DCU character
Guardians of the Galaxy’s Pom Klementieff has revealed that she is in talks for a “specific character” in James Gunn’s DCU.
Appearing at San Antonio’s Superhero Comic Con, she was asked about the role she’d like to play in Gunn’s DCU. While she didn’t reveal her choice, she stated that there have been talks about one “specific” character.
Pom Klementieff answered:
“Do you really think I’m going to answer that question. I just want to keep working with James, so we’re going to keep trying to find ways to do that. Yes, we’ve been talking about one specific character, but I can’t talk about that right now.”
Her recent comments confirm what James Gunn said after debunking rumors of Pom Klementieff joining the DCU’s Superman movie. Back in December 2023, Gunn wrote on Threads:
“Despite Pom being one of my favorite actors to work with, this is 100% not true. Not only is Pom not in the movie, but no one has ever even discussed her being in the movie, nor do I have any idea what role she would possibly play.”
The Superman director added that there will “one thousand percent” be a character for Klementieff in the ever-growing DC Universe. But it’s “a specific character that has nothing to do with Superman.” Whether the character is a familiar one like Zatanna, or someone even less familiar to fans, as Mantis was for the MCU, remains to be seen.
