New Pierce Brosnan spy movie announced
Pierce Brosnan’s In The Wind will launch at the upcoming Cannes market in May. It is being financed by Nadine de Barros’ Fortitude International.
As per Deadline, Brosnan will play a retired spy who comes out of hiding due to a mysterious new neighbor.
In The Wind acts as the directorial debut for Simon Barry. Barry is known for creating and being the showrunner for Syfy’s Ghost Wars and Netflix’s Warrior Nun.
Following Warrior Nun’s cancelation after two seasons, Barry took on the upcoming film. Besides directing, he also gets the writing credits for penning the screenplay based on the original story of his father, Derek Barry.
Speaking with Deadline, Barry expressed his happiness about working with Brosnan, saying:
“As a longtime Pierce Brosnan fan, I’m extremely grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside someone I admire for their craft, character, and humanity.”
Uri Singer also praised the casting of Brosnan, who recently played Dr. Fate in Black Adam. According to him, the former 007 actor is well-suited for the upcoming thriller. He said:
“Pierce is the perfect fit for this role, and we are so excited to see what he and Simon will do together.”
The other cast members joining Brosnan are expected to be revealed at the Cannes market, where it is expected to get an official worldwide release date.
