According to Deadline, Golden Globe winner Matt Bomer (The Normal Heart, Maestro) has signed on to star opposite Keanu Reeves in Apple Studios’ upcoming dark comedy Outcome, which hails from Oscar nominee Jonah Hill.
Bomer’s casting comes after it was recently reported that Charlie’s Angels vet Cameron Diaz was in the final negotiations to join the cast. In addition to directing, Hill is also expected to star in the movie, which serves as his second directorial project. Further details about Bomer, Diaz and Hill’s characters are still under wraps.
What to expect from Outcome?
“The story follows Reef (Reeves), a damaged Hollywood star who must dive into the dark depths of his past to confront his demons and make amends after he is extorted with a mysterious video clip,” reads the synopsis.
Outcome will be directed by actor-director Jonah Hill from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ezra Woods. It is being production by Hill, Matt Dines and Ali Goodwin for Strong Baby. The upcoming dark comedy isn’t the only movie that Hill is currently working with Apple Original Films, as he’s also producing and starring in an untitled Grateful Dead biopic which will be directed by Martin Scorsese.
Besides Outcome, Reeves will next be seen in another comedy titled Good Fortune, which is being directed by Aziz Ansari. In addition, he is also set to reprise his iconic role as John Wick in the long-delayed Ballerina spin-off with Ana de Armas.
