ComingSoon is excited to debut an exclusive Desperation Road clip from director Nadine Crocker‘s Southern noir thriller. The film starring Oscar winner Mel Gibson and Garrett Hedlund is out today in select theaters, digitally, and through video-on-demand.
“This is among one of my favorite moments in the film. We all worked to make this scene a fun, intense ride and my composer, Haim Mazar, was able to really dial up the tension through his score. We added a ‘heartbeat’ underneath the music as an emotional cue to sync the audience with what the characters were experiencing in the scene,” said Crocker of the clip.
“As a director who loves horror and suspense thrillers, I always look for ways to play with the audience’s emotions. I try to build anxiety using every tool possible through production and post-production, building layer by layer. My goal is to get my audience fully invested in the moments of mystery and on the edge of their seats wondering what will happen next.”
