John Kramer (Tobin Bell) is back to his murderous ways as Jigsaw in Saw X, the tenth entry in the Saw franchise. Kramer was only alive in the first three films, dying at the end of Saw III. Flashbacks and time jumps have allowed Kramer to appear in subsequent films, but if they had to do it again, Saw X producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules probably would have kept Jigsaw alive a little longer.
“If I had to do it again, I might not have killed Tobin Bell in ‘Saw III,’ Burg said to Indiewire. “That might have been a mistake.”
What to Expect in Saw X?
“Set between the events of SAW I and II, a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable,” the official synopsis reads. “Armed with a newfound purpose, John returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through a series of ingenious and terrifying traps.”
Bell and Shawnee Smith reprise their roles as John Kramer/Jigsaw and Amanda Young. Synnøve Macody Lund, Steven Brand, Renata Vaca, Costas Mandylor, and Michael Beach also star.
Saw X is directed by Kevin Greutert and written by Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger. Greutert previously directed Saw VI and Saw 3D. Saw X is now in theaters.
