Kevin Greutert is returning to the blood-splattered Saw franchise to direct Saw XI after his successful stint on Saw X.
Saw XI Keeps It in the Family
Revealed by Bloody Disgusting, Greutert will direct a Saw film for the fourth time with this year’s sequel.
With Lionsgate no doubt excited by the success of Saw X, which grabbed an impressive $112 million at the worldwide box office, keeping some of its core components feels like a no-brainer. Writers Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger already ruled themselves out of returning for Saw XI,
Before Saw X, Kevin Greutert helmed Saw VI and Saw The Final Chapter back to back in 2009/10. He was also involved with editing on the first five Saw films as well as the soft reboot Jigsaw.
We still don’t know whether or not Saw XI will directly continue the story of Saw X which was set between the events of the first two films in the franchise. In Saw X, Jigsaw seeks justice against a scam artist who tricks him into believing they can cure his cancer with a revolutionary new treatment.
Saw XI is set to bathe theaters in a fresh coat of blood when it’s released on September 27, 2024.
