It was revealed last month that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Ben Affleck has plans to headline a Warner Bros. action thriller titled The Accountant with Warrior helmer Gavin O’Connor attached to helm.
Now, Variety reveals that Pitch Perfect and Into the Woods star Anna Kendrick is eyeing the female lead.
UPDATE: The Hollywood Reporter adds that actor J.K. Simmons, who is receiving awards buzz for his starring role in Damien Chazelle’s Whiplash, is also in talks for a role. They add that Kendrick is “also circling a role, but sources say that deal still has quite a ways to go and may not stick.”
Based on the script by Bill DuBuque, The Accountant centers on a mild-mannered accountant who moonlights as a lethal assassin.
Kendrick’s role has not been revealed.
Kevin Scott Frakes, Lynette Howell, Raj Brinder Singh and Mark Williams are producing the film with Drew Crevello and Jon Gonda overseeing.
