While the voiceover talent from the game didn’t carry over to the film, this Injustice: Gods Among Us movie does have some creative talent from the two Mortal Kombat Legends animated movies. Rick Morales will the producer.
A few others have transferred from other DC media. Matt Peters, known for directing Justice League Dark: Apokolips War and his artistry on many other DC animated films, is directing Injustice: Gods Among Us. Batman: Hush and Justice League: Action writer Ernie Altbacker is writing the script. Warner Bros. Animation President Sam Register and Green Lantern: The Animated Series Producer Jim Krieg are executive producers.

This is not the only film based on a NetherRealm Studios franchise coming out this year. Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms is slated to come out on August 31, 2021 through digital and physical storefronts. But it’s still unknown what game NetherRealm is working on as it recently ceased support for Mortal Kombat 11 in lieu of its next mystery project. Rumors have floated around saying it was a Marvel fighting game, while the studio’s pattern might point to Injustice 3. It might even be something else entirely, but the Chicago developer has not said either way.
