Remember back in January when Stan Lee said that he wouldn’t be making a cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy, ending his streak of cameos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? False alarm! Variety reports that Lee was asked about cameo-ing in the film at a panel this weekend at C2E2 where he mentioned that he had filmed a sequence for the movie.
“I did, already,” he responded. “I can’t tell you what it is, but I can tell you I do not understand what it was or why I did it. It has me with a girl — a very pretty girl — that’s all I can tell you.”
We’re going to assume that Lee was simply unable to film his cameo during principal photography on “Guardians” but was able to film a scene during the additional shooting that took place a few weeks ago. Now the matter of who this ‘very pretty girl’ Lee refers to is another mystery. Could it be Zoe Saldana’s Gamora, Karen Gillan’s Nebula, or perhaps Ophelia Lovibond’s character? That remains to be seen, but rest assured true believers, the generalissimo will be present for the August 1st release.
Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy also stars Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Michael Rooker, Benicio Del Toro, Lee Pace, Djimon Honsou, Gregg Henry, Glenn Close and John C. Reilly.
