After appearing mostly on the small screen for the past decade, Dulé Hill (Psych) is returning to the film world for the upcoming supernatural thriller Geechee, in which he’ll star alongside Andrea Riseborough (The Grudge), according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film, which is being written and directed by Dubois Ashong in his feature debut, will follow Riseborough’s Wren, a successful New York scientist who decides to leave the city with her son to start life over in the remote Sea Islands off the Atlantic Coast, where the people are descendants of a centuries-old group of African slaves. Soon, her world starts to unravel as the souls of the subjugated begin to haunt her dreams and her waking life until she is driven to the brink of horrifying insanity.
The project is set to be produced and financed by Stuart Ford through his AGC Studios banner alongside Glendon Palmer, while Jermaine Johnson and Luke Maxwell of 3 Arts Entertainment are attached as executive producers.

Hill has made a name for himself in the small screen world for key roles across multiple series, including Aaron Sorkin’s The West Wing for all seven seasons from 1999-2006, the long-running USA Network detective comedy Psych, including its two sequel movies, and the same channel’s legal drama Suits, in which he had a recurring role for the seventh season and was upgraded to regular for the final two seasons. He also had a recurring role on the HBO hit comedy Ballers and a main role on the short-lived CBS legal drama Doubt.
Hill’s film career has sen him hold everything from important roles in the 1999 cult teen comedy She’s All That and the 2003 acclaimed adventure comedy Holes to supporting roles in 2000’s Men of Honor, 2006’s The Guardian and 2017’s Sleight.
