According to The Wrap, Eugenio Derbez will produce the comedy Bad Dog for Lionsgate, based on a script by Jeff Bushell.

When Satan’s favorite hound, Bub, is booted out of hell by a jealous rival, he is mistakenly adopted by a single dad and his two kids. Despite his bad ways, Bub soon begins to embrace his goodness and falls in love with the family. When Satan wants his dog back and Bub refuses, he must protect his new family from the fury of hell.

Derbez is an actor, writer, producer and director who has starred in films such as The Nutcracker and the Four Realms and the upcoming Dora and the Lost City of Gold, the latter of which he also produced.
Bree Bailey will oversee Bad Dog for Lionsgate, with Carlos Aguirre overseeing for 3Pas Entertainment. Josh Fagen will oversee for Point Grey.
Bushell is known for his Blacklist script Ricky Stanicky, which has Peter Farrelly attached to direct. His screenwriting credits include the hit Disney film Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Marvin Marvin, Bella and the Bulldogs, The Bernie Mac Show, and MADtv.
