Having landed on last year’s “Black List” of unproduced screenplays, Young Il Kim’s Hillary Clinton biopic, Rodham, has landed a director in The Spectacular Now helmet James Ponsoldt.
The Temple Hill Entertainment production will focus on the early years of the future first lady’s life and features the following official logline:
During the height of the Watergate scandal, rising star Hillary Rodham is the youngest lawyer chosen for the House Judiciary Committee to Impeach Nixon, but she soon finds herself forced to choose between a destined path to the White House and her unresolved feelings for Bill Clinton, her former boyfriend who now teaches law in Arkansas.
Ponsoldt, who also directed last year’s Smashed, also recently signed on to adapt Julianna Baggott’s Pure.
