Kwon Nara is a 33-year-old South Korean actress and singer currently starring in ENA’s The Midnight Studio. Before becoming an actress, she was part of the K-pop girl group Hello Venus.
Nara was one of the original members of Hello Venus, which initially consisted of six members. In 2019, the group disbanded and Nara solely focused on her acting career. She made several cameo appearances in shows, such as Take Care of Us Captain, I Need Romance Season 3, and Single Cunning Lady.
The actress started getting important supporting roles from the SBS drama, Suspicious Partner. She got her first lead role in 2019 in Doctor Prisoner. Her next big hit was JTBC’s Itaewon Class. Meanwhile, she is garnering appreciation for her latest K-drama, The Midnight Studio.

The Midnight Studio
The Midnight Studio is Kwon Nara’s latest drama, in which she plays Han Bom. She is a freelance lawyer who cannot ignore injustice. Her life changes when she meets a strange photographer, Seo Ki-Joo (Joo Won). He runs a photo studio that opens at midnight because the customers are ghosts.
The magical camera and the photo studio business have been in his family for generations. Ki-Joo is the seventh owner of the studio and also inherits the family curse. None of the male members in his clan has lived beyond the age of 35. When he meets Han Bom, he discovers a supernatural connection with her that keeps ghosts away from him. Eventually, she joins the studio as the ghosts’ legal advisor. The drama airs on Mondays and Tuesdays on ENA and Viki.
Suspicious Partner
Suspicious Partner is a 2017 K-drama, starring Ji Chang-Wook, Nam Ji-Hyun, Choi Tae-Joon, and Kwon Nara in lead roles. Ji-Wook is a popular prosecutor and Eun Bong-Hee is a rookie justice department intern. While the former has a reputation in the industry, Bong-Hee is known to find herself in unfortunate situations. When she joins Ji-Wook as an intern, she gets falsely accused of killing her ex-boyfriend. To prove her innocence, he puts his career on line and gets demoted.
When things get complicated, Ji-Wook starts his own legal company alongside Bong-Hee. His grandfather Young-Hee and childhood friend Eun-Hyuk help him in every way possible. Also, Ji-Wook’s ex and a good friend Yoo-Jung (Nara) helps him in several cases.
Itaewon Class
Itaewon Class is a 2020 South Korean drama, starring Park Seo-Joon, Kim Da-Mi, and Kwon Nara in lead roles. It tells the story of Park Sae-Roy, who gets expelled from school for punching a bully. Tragedy strikes when that bully becomes the reason behind his father’s death. Sae-Roy beats up the culprit and ends up in jail. As the killer’s father is a business tycoon in the restaurant industry, Sae-Roy seeks revenge by being more successful than him.
On his journey, he befriends an unlikely group of people. While Da-Mi plays his manager Yi-Seo, Nara plays Soo-Ah — Sae-Roy’s first love. The K-drama is available on Netflix.
Bulgasal: Immortal Souls
Bulgasal: Immortal Souls is a 2022 fantasy K-drama revolving around a mythical creature roaming on Earth for over 600 years. Lee Jin-Wook plays Dan Hwal/Bulgasal, who used to be a human but became immortal during the Joseon era. Kwon Nara plays Min Sang-Woon/Kim Hwa-Yeon, who used to be immortal but becomes human after a tragic event.
Streaming on Netflix, the synopsis reads, “Cursed since birth and exempt from death, a revenge-driven immortal sets out on a quest to reclaim his soul and end a 600-year-old vendetta.”
