SBS‘ upcoming K-drama The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection (Season 2) is set to premiere this Friday. The series stars Uhm Ki-Joon and Lee Joon as the lead characters. The storyline of season 1 revolves around a fake man who wants to become the king of an entire empire. In the process, bloodshed, intentional attacks, and politics get involved.
In season 2, the dead will arise from hell to counterattack. Some will be out for revenge, some will seek power, while others will disguise themselves as slaves with hidden intentions. Before the release, let’s look at everything the viewers need to know beforehand about the revenge K-drama.

Most actors from The Escape of the Seven season 1 will reprise their roles in The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection. Uhm Ki-Joon is going to continue portraying the evil Matthew Lee. Apart from him, Hwang Jung-Eum will play Geum Ra-Hee, and Lee Joon as Min Do-Hyuk. In addition, Lee Yoo-Bi, Shin Eun-Kyung, Yoon Jong-Hoon, and others will play supporting roles. In season 2, CNBLUE’s Lee Jung-Shin joins the star cast as one of the main characters.
The master of master in deceit, Matthew Lee, is returning as more evil and poised than before. On the other hand, Geum Ra-Hee, the self-interested woman, will align with Matthew to satisfy her needs and desires. At the same time, Min Do-Hyuk returns from hell with revenge in his eyes. The new character in season 2 is Hwang Chan-Sung (Lee Jung-Shin). He is the CEO of SAVE, the leading portal site in Korea.
In a recent press conference, Lee Jung-Shin talked about his experience in the drama. He said, “I filmed the character Hwang Chan-Seong while receiving the script. At first, the author didn’t fully explain it to me. There were some difficulties while filming, but I filmed with the feeling that I had made progress. I finished the last filming yesterday and was relieved and proud.”
However, the viewers are excited to see Lee Joon and Uhm Ki-Joon’s equation in the drama. SBS’s official Instagram handle shared new pictures of the duo. In the images, Lee Joon and Uhm Ki-Joon hug and make hearts with their hands. This gesture piqued the audience’s interest even more.
The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection will begin right where the viewers were left in season 1. Min Do-Hyuk returns after suffering in hell with a vengeance to uncover Matthew’s real identity. However, this time, Matthew Lee is aided by Kang Ki-Tak (Yoon Tae-Young) and the mysterious ‘Medusa.’ As Matthew becomes unstoppable, the seven associates return to counterattack and get back their lives.
