Gyeongseong Creature part 1 spoilers: Did Park Seo-Joon escape from the hospital?

After fighting the monster, the Japanese soldiers capture Chae-Ok (Han So-Hee) and Tae-Sang (Park Seo-Joon). While she is locked up, the ward’s head strikes a deal with Tae-Sang, who returns to find Chae-Ok.

Meanwhile, Lt. Kato stops the soldiers from torturing her. He takes her into his office and realizes that she is the daughter of Sheishen, the woman who turned into the dangerous creature. When she learns the truth, she doesn’t believe Lt. Kato.

He chains her up in the basement and lures the creature to her. Lt. Kato wants to find out whether or not the monster will kill its own daughter. When the creature arrives, its first instinct is to attack. But it stops when Chae-Ok shouts, “Mother!” Sheishen opens her eyes for the first time since becoming the creature. Seeing her maternal love overpowering the virus, Lt. Kato orders his soldiers to shoot and release nitrogen gas to tame the creature.

Sheishen releases multiple tentacles and protects Chae-Ok. The creature breaks her daughter’s chain and pushes her away. Tae-Sang appears at the perfect moment and rescues Chae-Ok.

They meet other prisoners and get ready to leave the hospital. Meanwhile, Tae-Sang maps out a plan of action. He helps everyone leave the hospital by creating a passage between a window and a truck.

After fighting a few soldiers, Tae-Sang, Chae-Ok, and a fellow prisoner leave at last. He orders Chae-Ok to leave first, after which he asks the fellow prisoner to follow. Later, he shuts the window and decides to stay behind to distract the soldiers.

Gyeongseong Creature episode 7 ending: A new monster is created

Gyeongseong Creature episode 7 is the final episode of the K-drama‘s part 1. Lt. Kato and Director Ichiro are furious after all the prisoners escape. They captured those prisoners to test the virus that turned Sheishen into a monster.

Previously, Lt. Kato gave Chae-Ok the drink spiked with the virus to turn her into a creature like her mother, but she didn’t drink it. Later, Tae-Sang, the prison’s head, and Myeong-Ja, Commissioner Ishikawa’s pregnant mistress, entered the room.

After the prison break, Lt. Kato noticed the empty glass. He tries to figure out who drank the potion. The camera focuses on all four suspects. The jail’s head is shown leaving Gyeongseong with his family, Chae-Ok returns home with a heavy heart, Tae-Sang is wounded in the hospital, and Myeong-Ja spends the night with Commissioner Ishikawa.

Gyeongseong Creature episode 7 ends with a post-credit scene, where the virus moves towards Myeong-Ja’s brain. This indicates she drank the potion after all and is set up to be the new monster.

Gyeongseong Creature part 1 ends on a sad note. Hopefully, the remaining three episodes will compensate for it as viewers root for Chae-Ok and Tae-Sang’s reunion.

Part 1 is currently streaming on Netflix, while Gyeongseong Creature part 2 will premiere on January 5, 2023, with the final three episodes.
