Tell Me That You Love Me episode 8 aired on Tuesday, December 18, 2023, on ENA and Disney+. Helmed by Kim Yoon-Jin, the K-drama stars Shin Hyun-Been as Mo-Eun and Jung Woo-Sung as Jin-Woo. It chronicles the love story of Jin-Woo, a painter with a hearing disability, and Mo-Eun, who is a struggling actress.
In the previous episode of Tell Me That You Love Me, Jin-Woo’s ex-lover, Song Seo-Kyung, comes to see him at his house at night. Following this, episode 8 sees Seo-Kyung asking Jin-Woo to show his mural paintings in a solo exhibition. The episode also shows Mo-Eun’s parents learning about her and Jin-Woo’s romantic relationship.
Tell Me That You Love Me episode 8: Mo-Eun’s parents meet Jin-Woo
The beginning of Tell Me That You Love Me episode 8 takes viewers on a trip down Jin-Woo’s memory lane. In a flashback scene, the episode shows how Jin-Woo and his ex-lover and then-classmate, Song Seo-Kyung, developing feelings for each other. The couple even promises to not break up. The episode then returns to the present, where Jin-Woo and Seo-Kyung have a conversation about the former’s mural paintings.
Song Seo-Kyung tells him that it is not only about helping Jin-Woo achieve fame as a painter but also about establishing herself as a well-known art director. She wants to direct a solo exhibition for Jin-Woo. She finds his mural paintings captivating and asks him to show them to the world. Soon, Seo-Kyung leaves his house, and Jin-Woo’s response to the proposal is not shown in the episode.
Meanwhile, Mo-Eun’s close friend Jo-Han, who has feelings for her, gathers the courage to call her and ask for forgiveness for his unexpected behavior. However, it is clear that he is heartbroken by the news of Mo-Eun and Jin-Woo’s dating.
On the other hand, Mo-Eun’s brother, Jung Mo-Dam, meets Jin-Woo for the first time and learns about his hearing disability. He is shocked by this revelation and acts strangely. Throughout the entire dinner, which includes Mo-Eun, Jin-Woo, Mo-Dam, and Ji-Yu, the female protagonist’s brother sits silently and behaves coldly towards Jin-Woo.
Mo-Eun gets upset by the whole situation and says sorry to Jin-Woo, who assures her that he doesn’t mind it. Later on, Mo-Eun and Jin-Woo visit Ki-Hyun and So-Hee’s place for dinner. The four of them have a great time together conversing. After that, Jin-Woo drops Mo-Eun home. While walking her up to her house, the two come face-to-face with Mo-Eun’s parents.
This is the first time Mo-Eun’s parents learn that she is seeing someone. They also find out about Jin-Woo’s hearing condition and express their surprise. They don’t say much at that moment. Later that night, Mo-Eun goes to see Jin-Woo at his house. When he opens the door, she tells him that she could not wait till the morning to tell him that she missed him. She also says that she has only come to see him, after which she leaves.
Jin-Woo follows her and asks if he can walk her home. She agrees and the two start to walk. Episode 8 of Tell Me That You Love Me ends with Mo-Eun and Jin-Woo sharing a passionate kiss in the middle of the street.
