Starring Rowoon and Cho Yi-hyun, The Matchmakers’ new poster has been released. With daily updates about the series, KBS Drama is leaving no stone unturned in promoting the highly anticipated South Korean drama.
The latest poster features Rowoon as Shim Jung-woo and Cho Yi-hyun as Jung Soon-deok in a romantic atmosphere. The story revolves around the two lead characters who start working together as matchmakers to marry off men and women who are considered to be older than the primal age of marriage, according to the Joseon period custom.
Jung-woo is a young widower whose bride passed away during their wedding ceremony. Hence, the intelligent nobleman cannot remarry or enroll in a government job, as per the custom. Soon-deok, on the other hand, is a young widow of the second son of the first vice-premier. She leads a dual life in which she is Mrs. Yeo Joo, the town’s best matchmaker.

The Matchmakers is set to premiere on October 30, 2023, at 9.45 PM KST on KBS. New episodes will air every Monday and Tuesday, and will also be available on Viki.
Directed by Hwang Seung-gi, the upcoming K-drama series stars Rowoon as Shim Jung-woo, Cho Yi-hyun as Jung Soon-deok, Park Ji-young as Park So-hyeon, Jo Han-chul as King, Lee Hae-young as Jo Yeong-bae, Choi Hee-jin as Mrs. Jo, Jin Hee-kyung as Queen, Jung Shin-hye as Maeng Ha-na, and Park Ji-won as Maeng Doo-ri among others.
A new poster has been recently released that features the lead pair in a romantic setting. The first poster featured Rowoon and Cho Yi-hyun in a different setting, portraying the feeling of competition between them. But the new poster teases romance.
A picturesque moment is created as Shim Jung-woo and Jung Soon-deok look at a colorful lantern with a soft gaze. Their faces seem calm while Jung-woo’s one hand is lovingly placed on Soon-deok’s shoulder and the other grasping the lantern.
Soon-deok looks mesmerized and relaxed as she warmly stares at the lantern with folded hands. Their closeness creates a cozy and beautiful atmosphere, all set to make fans’ hearts flutter.
Despite a romantic setting, the lines on the poster create contrast as it reads, “I’m not in love with you.” It arouses curiosity, leaving viewers wondering about the plot. Shedding light on the poster, Naver mentioned the production team’s statement in their report. It states, “The ‘main poster’ of the romance version was produced to capture the heart-pounding moments of Shim Jeong-woo and Jeong Soon-deok, who completed romantic visuals from head to toe.”
