Heeramandi’s Taha Shah Badussha Recalls Running Behind Karan Johar’s Car For a Role

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar premiered on Netflix over a month ago. The star-studded web series saw many talented actors doing their best to do justice to its script. The show is led by female actors, including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharmin Segal, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, and Sanjeeda Sheikh. However, its undoubted hero was Taha Shah Badussha, who played the role of Nawab Tajdar Baloch. While the role has finally brought success to Badussha, he recently revealed his struggles to find parts in good movies.

Once, the actor ran behind director and producer Karan Johar’s car to bag a role.

‘He saw me’: Heeramandi’s Taha Shah Badussha on bagging a Dharma Production movie

Taha Shah Badussha made his acting debut opposite Shraddha Kapoor in the 2011 movie Luv Ka The End. To bag another film with a big banner, he reached out to Karan Johar but in an unusual way. In a recent interview with The Week, he revealed how he ran behind Karan Johar’s car for a role in his 2012 movie Gippi. He continued, “He saw me, stopped the car and offered some water. He called me the next day to audition for the film Gippi by Dharma Productions. That’s how I got the role.”

While his debut movie, Luv Ka The End, did not do well at the box office, the same happened with his later projects. Badussha played crucial roles in Gippi, Barkhaa, Baar Baar Dekho, and Ranchi Diaries, but none of them brought him success.

Taha Shah Badushha waited for over a decade to touch success like he did with Heeramandi. He is also being called the new Sushant Singh Rajput as the late actor also made it in the industry by himself. Badussha is now looking forward to taking forward the late star’s legacy.
