Social Media is rife with netizens calling out Nandamuri Balakrishna for his recent actions during the pre-release event of Gangs Of Godavari. The veteran actor was a guest at the event. A video of him pushing the film’s actress, Anjali, is going viral. While the makers and cast of the project have defended Balakrishna’s actions, netizens are seemingly irked by them.
Netizens slam Nandamuri Balakrishna for pushing actress Anjali
In the clip shared by Christopher Kanagaraj, Nandamuri Balakrishna can be seen asking everyone to move for a picture. Suddenly, he pushes actress Anjali to make room for everyone. While Anjali reacted to his actions by laughing, her co-star Neha Shetty immediately helped her. In another video, two plastic bottles are seen sitting below his seat. One of them has water, and another allegedly has alcohol.
Netizens are divided in reacting to the video. While many have condemned his actions, others are defending him. A user wrote, “How can the people of that state still accept and celebrate such a man.” Meanwhile, another one penned, “Celebrating uncultured as celebrities.” Many iterated to watch the complete video of the event.
According to Hindustan Times, Gangs Of Godavari star Vishwak Sen has also defended Nandamuri Balakrishna’s actions. In a new press conference, he said, “He is such a good man, he will take something serious also jovially. We also need to understand what needs to be taken seriously and what need not.” The actor added, “Everyone is reacting only to a portion of the video; no one saw what happened after (he shoved Anjali).”
Producer Vamsi added, “Suppose there are three people, suppose I ask you to move and you don’t, so I casually push you. That’s all that happened there. This is happening because people have planned to turn it into a controversy.” He further claimed that the Balakrishna and Anjali later high-fived each other.
The makers of the film also claimed that the bottle near Balakrishna’s seat allegedly did not have alcohol in it.
