Maidaan Box Office Collection Day 5: Ajay Devgn’s Movie Records Major Dip

Ajay Devgn’s sports drama Maidaan witnessed a significant decline in its box office collections on Day 5, marking a challenging turn in its theatrical run. Released amidst high expectations and alongside the action-packed entertainer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, the film faced tough competition at the ticket counters.

Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, Maidaan features Ajay Devgn in the lead role, portraying the legendary football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. The film explores the inspiring journey of the Indian national football team under Rahim’s leadership during the 1950s and 1960s.

Despite its engaging storyline and stellar performances, Maidaan struggled to maintain audience engagement, challenged by strong competition from other film releases and finding it difficult to entice viewers back to the cinema.

Maidaan box office collection: How much did  Ajay Devgn’s movie earn?

According to industry estimates provided by Sacnilk, Maidaan’s net collection on its fifth day dropped substantially, accumulating approximately $280,000. This decline represents a considerable setback for the film, indicating a 68.18 percent decrease in its earnings compared to its opening day.

Although it had a promising start, Maidaan struggled to maintain momentum at the box office in the extended weekend. The film opened to a moderate response, minting $1.65 million on its first day of release. However, its performance gradually declined in the following days, with collections amounting to $870,000 on Day 2 and $775,000 on Day 3, respectively. By the end of its first weekend, Maidaan managed to accumulate a total of $3.71 million. However, Day 4, which was the first Sunday, witnessed a steady rise in its collection.

In addition to its domestic performance, Maidaan also faced challenges in the international market. With overseas earnings contributing to its global box office figures, the film struggled to make a significant impact, further dampening its overall prospects.

As the film enters its second week, industry analysts speculate its future trajectory, emphasizing the need for sustained momentum. This also implies the importance of positive word-of-mouth to revitalize the film’s box office performance. As it struggles in terms of figures, the fate of Maidaan hangs in the balance as it attempts to survive its competitors this month.
