Sara Ali Khan‘s much-awaited movie, Ae Watan Mere Watan, premiered recently on Amazon Prime Video but failed to impress fans.
Kannan Iyer directed the film, while Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment produced it. It also stars Emraan Hashmi, Sachin Khedekar, Abhay Verma, Sparsh Shrivastav, Alexx O’Neil, and Anand Tiwari.
Set against the Quit India Movement of 1942 backdrop, the movie draws inspiration from real events, showcasing an important yet unnoticed chapter in India’s struggle for independence.

Ae Watan Mere Watan review: Fans unimpressed with Sara Ali Khan’s performance
After Ae Watan Mere Watan was available to stream on Amazon Prime Video, netizens quickly took to their X handles (formerly Twitter) and shared their review of the movie.
While the movie received mixed reviews from viewers, most of them seemed to be negative. They were disappointed with Sara Ali Khan’s performance but praised Emraan Hashmi for portraying Ram Manohar Lohia. One user wrote, “Ae Watan Mere Watan Twitter Review: Internet Loves Emraan Hashmi, Calls Sara Ali Khan’s Performance “Weak”!”
In the movie, Emraan Hashmi is seen in a brand new avatar, determined to fight against British rule in India. Praising his performance, one user wrote, “#AeWatanMereWatan @emraanhashmi acting was the only reason I was hooked, what a convincing act of a great freedom fighter.”
Although, there were some who appreciated Sara Ali Khan’s performance and applauded the storyline. One user wrote, “Wow.
