Yodha Ending Explained & Spoilers: How Did Sidharth Malhotra’s Film End?

Yodha is a 2024 Hindi-language action thriller directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha. It stars Sidharth Malhotra as Arun Katyal, a member of the elite task force Yodha. The film revolves around Arun’s involvement in a high-stakes rescue mission that takes a dangerous turn.

As the plot unfolds, viewers embark on a mysterious journey filled with twists and turns. The film’s ending leaves audiences on the edge of their seats. Viewers witness the result of Arun’s victory against all odds.

Why did Arun join the task force?

Arun Katyal was an integral member of the elite task force known as Yodha, comprised of officers from the Army, Air Force, and Navy. These officers were dedicated to undertaking daring rescue missions nationwide. His father, Major Surender Katyal, founded Yodha and tragically perished during one such mission. Inspired by his father’s bravery, Arun joined the force, disregarding hierarchy and chain of command.

Married to Priyamvada Katyal, an additional secretary in the PMO’s office, they shared a harmonious partnership driven by their respective careers. As part of Yodha, Arun is responsive for safeguarding an Indian nuclear scientist during a flight hijacked by terrorists. With government forces mobilizing for a rescue operation, Arun navigated the escalating tension within the aircraft.

Despite the terrorists being initially unaware of the scientist’s importance, a VIP passport exposed his identity, intensifying the standoff. Arun improvised, relocating the scientist to the aircraft’s luggage compartment in a bid to shield him. However, the terrorists pursued, leading to a desperate struggle. Ultimately, thwarted in their demands for extra fuel, the terrorists ejected Arun from the aircraft.

Why did Government want to disband Yodha?

Following the botched rescue mission at Amritsar airport, the hijacking crisis was resolved. The fallout cast a harsh spotlight on Yodha, drawing scrutiny from both government authorities and the media. Amidst the inquiry that ensued, it became evident that the government wanted to disband Yodha. This blow deeply wounded Arun, driven by his unwavering dedication to his father’s legacy.

Priya found herself compelled to testify, compelled to speak the truth even if it meant implicating her husband. The grueling proceedings took a heavy toll on Arun. Arun’s steadfast determination to preserve Yodha clashed with the harsh realities of their financial woes and uncertain future. His mounting frustration and resentment towards the perceived injustices of the system strained their marriage irreparably.

Why did Priya seek divorce from Arun?

Unable to separate their personal and professional lives, the strain proved insurmountable. Arun’s unrelenting anger and blame towards Priya led to her seeking a divorce. She was unable to weather the storm of their fractured relationship any longer. Despite the pain and regret that followed, Arun, consumed by anger and bitterness, reluctantly agreed to sign the divorce papers.

A few years later, Arun, now an air commando, found himself caught in a web of intrigue. He received anonymous phone messages with details about his upcoming flight. Initially perplexed, Arun’s uncertainty soon escalated. A sudden schedule change redirected him to the Delhi-London route, orchestrated by these enigmatic messages.

As the messages persisted, divulging ominous hints of potential hijackings and the identities of Pakistani individuals in need of rescue. He embarked on a covert investigation, scouring the flight for any signs of impending danger with instincts honed by years of training and experience.

Meanwhile, Arun’s presence on the London-bound flight raised suspicions among his former colleagues in air traffic control. They couldn’t shake the feeling that he was embroiled in something clandestine.

Events took a tragic turn when Arun inadvertently injured a passenger, only to discover later that the man was his fellow air commando, strategically eliminated to facilitate the hijacking scheme. Caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse, Arun realized his involvement in an evil plot, racing against time to thwart the looming threat and safeguard the lives of all aboard the flight.

Who was the real hijacker?

Amidst the hijacking crisis, Arun Katyal was wrongly labeled as a terrorist, leading to chaos and distrust aboard the aircraft. As suspicions mounted, the real hijacker, posing as the co-pilot, eliminated the main pilot to maintain control. Arun, aided by another pilot, confronted the hijacker in a bid to regain control. After a tense dispute, Arun managed to subdue the hijacker, only to discover that the threat persisted as the air hostess, Laila, revealed herself to be another planted terrorist. With communication routes jammed and blame wrongly placed on Arun, the passengers, including Arun and Laila, strived to stabilize the flight amidst escalating danger.

As Laila persisted in executing the hijackers’ plan to avenge the Kashmir struggle, she revealed the bombs hidden within fire extinguishers, unnoticed by officials. Intent on crashing the plane into the Prime Minister’s building in Islamabad during a crucial peace summit, the true extent of the plot became clear to a dismayed Arun. Despite the delegation’s belief that Arun was the terrorist, the real mastermind behind the attack was unveiled as a minister from Pakistan’s new cabinet.

Yodha ending: Was Arun able to save Priya and the Prime Minister?

Arun and a trained passenger pilot realized that the plane’s target was a mosque, where the new Pakistani leader was to offer prayers. Priyamvada, with the Indian authorities, discovered Arun’s innocence and the true identity of the terrorists. Despite diffusing a sulfur bomb and fixing the landing gear, the plane landed outside the Prime Minister’s building in Islamabad, sparing the passengers and preventing catastrophe.

In the final confrontation, Jalal, the leader of the Kashmir separatist group, held the Indian PM and Priya hostage, aiming to provoke conflict between the two nations. Arun, determined to prove his innocence and prevent further war, faced off against Jalal. Their clash ended with Jalal’s demise in a blast started by Arun.

With the crisis averted, Arun and Priya reconciled their marriage despite their separation. As peace was back, Yodha was reinstated as an official elite force, fulfilling Arun’s long-held dream and ensuring their continued commitment to serve their nation.
