Directed by Vidyadhar Kagita, Gaami is a new addition to the Telugu industry, produced at a low budget. For those unaware, at the beginning of this year, Prashant Verma’s film HanuMman surprised the audience with its visuals made on a meager budget.
HanuMan, which emerged from the Telugu film industry, showed people that a film with great graphics can be made even with very limited resources. While Hanuman is still very fresh in people’s memory, another charismatic film is now coming out from the Telugu industry.
The makers of Gami shared the trailer on Thursday, leaving the public astonished after watching it. Ahead of the movie’s release, here are all the details about the film.
Gaami release date, cast & more
After a long wait, Gaami will finally be released in cinema on March 8, 2024, coinciding with the Maha Shivratri. The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Vishwak Sen, Chandini Chowdary, Abhinaya, and Harika Pedda in prominent roles. Moreover, it follows the journey of Shankar, who suffers from a rare condition of inability to experience any human touch.
To cure this disease, he is searching for the Maali leaves located on Dronagiri mountain deep in the Himalayas. However, there is a twist—these leaves only blossom once every 36 years. Therefore, he must complete his journey within a stipulated time, or else he will have to wait for another 36 years to find the leaves again.
The tagline on the poster also reads, “His biggest fear is human touch. His deepest desire is also human touch.” Apart from this, Gami first came into the spotlight when a video with the name ‘Project Gami’ was shared on YouTube and crowd-funding started to make the film. Due to lack of funds, this project took almost 6 years to hit screens.
Currently, Gaami has been produced by Karthik Sabareesh, under Karthik Kult Kreations, and presented by V Celluloid, a subsidiary of UV Creations.

Gaami’s trailer not only impressed the audience but also caught the attention of the rebel star Prabhas. After watching the trailer, Prabhas highly praised it, stating, ” Upon viewing the teaser for the first time, I was thoroughly impressed.
