The anticipation among the fans of Vijay Thalapathy’s The GOAT is at its peak. Recently, the makers revealed two new posters of Thalapathy’s next film titled The Greatest of All Time. Amidst this, fans claim that the movie might be based on the real story of D. B. Cooper.
Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT will be produced under the banner of AGS Entertainment. The movie will be an action-packed flick, promising to deliver a futuristic experience with Vijay Thalapathy’s dual role.
Along with Vijay, The GOAT stars Meenakshi Chaudhary in the lead role. As of writing this, the makers have only announced the title of the film and the release date is yet to be revealed.
On the occasion of New Year’s Eve, the production house unveiled two posters of the movie, depicting Vijay in a double role. The first poster includes an old look of Vijay with his younger version. Further, it shows them in the look of fighter pilots, while the second one includes both versions of Vijay on a flying bike with a gun blaze.
Vijay Thalapathy GOAT is based on D.B. Cooper’s real story
Since the posters have been released, they have generated a huge buzz among the audience. This led to many claiming that the story of The Greatest of All Time might be based on the real story of D. B. Cooper. Earlier, the movie was also speculated to be a remake of the Hollywood movie Gemini Man. However, the makers declined the film to be a remake.
For those unaware, D. B. Cooper is the media byname of an unidentified man who hijacked Northwest Orient Airlines Flight 305, a Boeing 727 aircraft. This incident took place on November 24, 1971, when he took a flight from Portland to Seattle. During the flight, Cooper told attendants that he was armed with a bomb. Further, he demanded cash of $200,000 (at that time) as ransom. Not only this, he also asked for four parachutes for landing.
After taking off from Seattle, D.B. opened the aircraft door, deployed the staircase, and parachuted at night over Southwestern, Washington. After the incident, he has never been found or conclusively identified by the authorities.
Like the real story of D.B. Cooper, Vijay’s next film also has a reference to aircraft, this led to netizens speculating about the plot of the movie based on this story.
